Nanoflash and PDW355 PDW800

Did we ever get an answer to the question (I think it was asked) about what the Nano would record from overcranked footage out of an F355 or PDW800? In camera this does a half-res, presumably de-interlace and on playback out of the HDSDI it's in slomo, so does it record like this into the Nano (ie you set the Nano for 25P and it records upto 60 fps and lays it down at 25).

Dear Steve,

I do not know what would come out the HD-SDI port while you were overcranking.

Nor do I know what comes out while in playback.

Do you have an HD-SDI monitor and the PDW-F800 camera? If so, it would be worth a simple test.

I will also try to read the manual.

Dear Steve,

Your question does not seem to be covered in the Sony PDW-F800 manual.

It seems that the only way to determine this would be to call Sony or run a test with a monitor or a nanoFlash/Flash XDR.

Hi Dan,
I have checked this very same thing on the EX3 and when I set the camera to overcrank we just get normal vision from the SDI port.

Thanks Lance. The overcrank on the EX3 is different to that on the 800 and 355 though. But I do think the outcome will be the same - on playback with all of them it's in slomo, but in monitoring (and therefore what goes to the Nano) it's realtime speed of course.
