Using FCP 6.0.1 for copying from nanoflash

I am in trouble. I am away from the city shooting a feature film on PMW EX3 on NanoFlash. All my three cards(SanDisk ExtremeIII) are full. My footage is in QT XDCAM HD 422 100mbps.I have a Mac FCP6.0.1 Files are not opening .I know minimum FCP 6.0.2 is required. Can somebody tell me if I simply copy it in FCP 6.0.1 and later edit it in FCP 6.0.4 the footage is safe?

Dear Ramji,

Yes, you can copy the footage to your hard drive and then use the footage later after you have updated to 6.0.4 or higher.

Are you able to update to the higher versions at this time?

Thankx Dan my problem is that I am not been able to open the files in QT also. The copied file size is ok but I am not been able to see wether the footage is ok or not.

Dear Ramji,

The Apple Quicktime player will not play any XDCam 4:2:2 files, unless Final Cut Pro version 6.0.4 or higher is installed on the same computer.

Final Cut Pro version 6.0.4 or higher installs the 4:2:2 codec which is then used by both Final Cut Pro and Quicktime Player.

If you have access to the internet, have you considered just updating to the latest 6.0.4 or higher? This just involves downloading the updates, as far as I know.
