formatting Kingston Cards with 1.5.55 on XDR

I just upgraded to 1.5.55 on my XDR and it doesn't seem to want to let me format my knigston cards. I can RX ok but the display reads CF1 No Name. have gone back to previous firmware and all is ok. Anyone else had this problem?

Try This

Hey Chris:
If you are upgrading your firmware, then make sure you use the "Restore Defaults" command in the menu. This command will flush the internal XDR memory cache of the bits left over from the old firmware you have been using. As I found outI have just completed principal photography on a major documentary production where we shot about 70 % of the footage on the XDR with this firmware version installed, so I know it is pretty stable. I hope this helps ?

Dear Chris,

I am sorry, but I do not know what you mean by "I can RX OK"

At the end of the format, the new firmware tells you the Slot Number and Volume Name of the CompactFlash card.

Thus CF1 No Name

Means that th card in Slot 1 (CF1 = CompactFlash Slot 1) has been formatted, and the CompactFlash card volume name is "No Name"

You can take your CompactFlash cards into a computer, then manually update the Volume Name to anything you want.

To put it simply, your Kingston CompactFlash card was formatted ok.
