Trigger And Timecode Settings For XLH1
 

I'm having a lot of trouble with this, possibly connected to troubles with low temp operation mentioned under Michael Galvan's earlier post.

Please could somebody set out recommended Timecode and Trigger settings for operation with an XLH1 (old model) when used with a tape in the camera. I want to trigger the nano from the cams record/pause button.
I have the correct cables and haven't had any problems until this week.

Currently depending which settings I use I either get a timecode in signal on the Nano but no recording, or I get recordings, off and on, seemingly continuously on the Nano as soon as the camera is powered up and connected to the Nano.

The C.D. manual and FAQ is pretty useless (and out of date). I just hope it is me and not the Nano,

Dear Ron,

Do you have timecode being displayed on the nanoFlash's LCD? This is in the upper left corner.

You should have the Timecode cable from the nanoFlash connected to the Timecode Out of your camera.

You should have Timecode enabled in your camera, and set to Rec Run (Record Run).

You could set this temporarily to Free Run to see if the timecode is being received on the nanoFlash.

On the nanoFlash, you should have System|Timecode|Source set to LTC.

You should have System|Trigger set to Timecode (TC).

We recommend that you upgrade to our 1.6.245 firmware which should solve any "low temperature overheating indications".

After performing the update, please perform a "System|Restore Defualts", then set all of the menu options in the nanoFlash.

You have asked for a step-by-step manual for every camera.

I do not agree that our manual is useless. This is updated with every firmware release.
