Button Error message

Just had an issue where the nanoflash would not stop recording... it was being manually triggered and when I hit stop, it would just keep running and would get an message saying 'button error'. Had to power down and restart to get back running normally. Had to download the shot from the card via MPEG Streamclip and re-save it in order to play back. Guess the header was not correct.

Any thoughts?

Dear David,

What Brand/Type of CompactFlash cards are you using?

What firmware are you using.

I will ask our support team about a "Button Error". This is a new one to me.

Hello Everyone,

Usually a button Error message is Caused by the internal Keypad Triggering a button constantly, or by an internal short,

I would try to navigate the menu's after you have removed and reinstalled the power,

If this is the case you will see the cursor scroll uncontrollably, or simply button error flash on the screen with no button selection being detected, this is pretty rare issue.

Please email us @ cdsupport "at" convergent-design.com so we can troubleshoot this further

Best Regards

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your reply. It was a rental unit that I returned today, but I believe it was the latest software, Sandisk 32gb cards, not sure of the speed, but will try to find out. I am sure they were on the approved list. I had used the three times over that day, off-loaded and formatted each time..

Dear David,

Thanks for the info.

So, the cards appeared to be reliable. Stopping problems are caused when we can not write to the CompactFlash cards properly.

Of course, we like for you to use our latest firmware, but we do not know what firmware was in play.
