Nanoflash audio files on CS5

This isn't exactly a problem, but it's annoying. As background, I am using a new Nanoflash (firmware should be up to date) with SDI output and audio selections "embedded", "stereo" and "8 channels" selected in the menu. When I import these files to Premiere CS5 the audio automatically opens up three new audio tracks, all mono, and puts an identical audio clip on each one. Any other clip I put into the timeline puts audio into track one, as stereo, like it should. Is there a way out of this?

And while I am asking questions, is there a way to synchronize the clip number off the Nano with the number of the same clip recorded simultaneously on sxs card (Sony EX3)? It sure would save time to be able to look at the number of the Nano file and be able to say it goes with a given SxS file without having to view the whole day's shooting.

Thanks.

Re: Nanoflash audio files on CS5

Dear Steve,

Our engineers and I were discussing this yesterday.

We need to research if the camera includes the filename in the HD-SDI video stream.

We do not think that it does, but we want to investigate this.

Our files have a filename and timecode in the header.

You may be able to determine the same files by the timecode.

I am assuming that your camera does not output 8 audio channels over HD-SDI.

If it only outputs two channels, it would be best to set the nanoFlash to record just 2 audio channels.
