AE camera problem
 

I am creating a huge after affects 3d space comp where a camera glides in between many squares. can you picture it? the problme is i have used over 5,000 squares which where originaly layers.

The problem that i have is due to the fact that i have so many square's it takes my computer a long while to do anything.

so i have composed what i want. the next step for me is to weave my camera in and out of the comp and make it look 3d space. i know how to do this but my conventional camera method is suffering because i cannot smoothly position the camera as it is taking a long time for the computer to render everything i do.

so my question is. is there any other way that i can map out what the camera does instead of the way that i am doing it now as its taking a long time and there has to be some better way to do it. my computer is going to be slow regardless but another alternative might suite my workflow.

First, you could try using a wireframe view to set up the camera, reducing the render time of each step.

Second, disable a lot of the layers, so that you work with the ones you need to see, and the ones the camera gets close to, then when done, turn them back on - you can set up a large group of layers to be shy, and then toggle the global shy button.

Third, get somebody else to do it for you.

thanks for the help Conor i should have psoted this before i started the project ive been using wireframe and its sped up the process ten fold! nearly finished it now! thanks for the help and i wish i had someboady to do it for me! thanks again!
