This section of the DVInfo.Net Community forums is intended to host news concerning the digital video industry. It is not to be used for general media, political, or general technology news or for promotions or press releases by any party other than a sponsor of this site. Media topics should be posted in the TOTEM section of the forum.

We encourage members with relevent digital video news to share that news here.

Warning: It is a violation of copyright laws to reproduce news articles from other Web sites or to transcribe articles from printed publications. It is best to provide a link to a related Web site article in the form:

[ url] url of page [ /url]
(remove the leading spaces to the right of the left brackets)

To cite printed material, you may capsulize the highlights of the article but always provide a specific reference to the source publication where visitors can read the entire article.

We expect our members to respect the intellectual property rights of others and we will delete, immediately and without notice, any post that appears to be in violation of copyright laws.

Effective 08 November 2003, any post to the Digital Video Industry News forum MUST be backed up with a LINK from a CREDIBLE NEWS SOURCE.

We're not running a rumor mill here. Unsupported claims are not treated as news; they're treated as noise and therefore will be removed as soon as possible.

Unsubstantiated "rumors" are not real if they're not verifiable and as such they constitute a serious disservice to our readers.

Policy alteration, April 2004: for those who do like to play in the rumor sandbox, we have a special padded cell all made up for you: please visit our Area 51 forum for all sorts of speculative meanderings. Just remember, it still ain't news!
