NFL Films lays off 7% of workforce

League spokesman Brian McCarthy said the job cuts affected a variety of positions and came as the 44-year-old professional football documentary company was adapting to new technologies and a slowing economy.

``Like other media companies, NFL Films is facing economic challenges,'' McCarthy said in an e-mail. ``We also received news last month from HBO of the cancellation of `Inside the NFL.'''

Boy, HBO is not going to have much programming left.

So many good shows have run their course over the past few years.
