Awesome! Priced under $200k! One doesn't get a loan, one gets a mortgage!

All kidding aside, interesting take on ultra high res at 60P.

Was this thing announced at NAB? I don't remember hearing much about it.

From looking at the short press release, am I correct in assuming it doesn't offer any sort of onboard recording options? It looks like they're marketing this as a 4K webcam.

This, my friends, is what they call a "trial balloon". They're only gauging public reaction to get a sense if this bread box is even worth putting into production. Or if 8K is even worth the hassle. 4K is already almost too much to wrangle.

I'm thinking Cisco would be interested in this camera for their "Virtual Conference Room" idea. It's just delivering 2160p60 over IP that would be the problem.

I admittedly know very little about the world of distance learning and teleconferencing but that was my major question with this camera, how in the world are they going to push that kind of data through existing networks? Is there some type of technology accompanying this camera I haven't read about yet? Any of you guys out there who work in this field want to clue me in?

sat can handle that bandwidth no problem, but it will cost a fortune

I'd rather have Red's 4:4:4 12-bit than JVC's options of 4:2:2 10-bit or 4:4:4 8-bit.

It was about 2-3 years ago that JVC tested a 4K camera, and I was wondering what's been happening with their Ultra HD camera.

Don't forget that Dalsa's been in the 4K business for quite some time.
