Philips develops thin flat lights

Imagine working in a studio where no lighting rig was required because the walls and ceiling themselves radiated light. Give or take technical issues, this could be the future with a new lighting technology developed by Philips.

As long as you don't need focused/point lights!

Very cool though, lot of opportunities for this like the cab lighting in Collateral.
