Blue Barn Pictures, Inc. Announces 3-Day Intensive Course in HD Documentary Field Production

BROOKLYN, NY, April 17, 2009 – Blue Barn Pictures, Inc., a Brooklyn based multimedia production company, is now offering a 3-day hands-on intensive course in HD documentary field production with sponsorship from Canon and IFP.

"Most courses of this nature are limited to teaching basic fundamentals, but this course will actually equip you with the knowledge and hands-on skills to go out with confidence and create your own documentary pieces," says owner David Castillo. The course begins with classroom work to prepare students to handle a variety of situations in the field, focusing on HD workflow, lighting techniques, audio, basic editing on FCP, interview techniques, creative style, and professional etiquette.

In addition, students will get the opportunity to go out and direct, shoot, and edit their own 60-second documentaries in a real-life setting using the latest Canon HD cameras and Final Cut Pro for a public showing on the final day of the course.

Blue Barn Pictures, Inc. is currently offering 2 sessions of the course: Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3, and Friday, May 22 through Sunday, May 24.

THE PRODUCERS WORKSHOP- Saturday September 26
In this course, students are provided with all the skills and knowledge needed to produce a project from start to finish. Under the guidance of two producers with a combined 20 years of experience in commercial production, students will study topics including the bidding process, client relations, budgeting, scheduling, legal issues, and the art of producing for the web. HD DOCUMENTARY FIELD PRODUCTION- Friday October 2 to Sunday October 4
This 3 day intensive course covers all the essentials of documentary filmmaking. It will focus on HD Workflow, Lighting Techniques, Audio, Basic Editing in Final Cut Pro, Interview Techniques, Creative Style, and Professional Etiquette.
