Very interesting product- I hope it's priced right!

Hmm, I wonder- a new HM cameras are using XDCAM compression, not AVCHD. So why isn't it supported with this unit?

From the Press Release:

"Both models include component and HDMI outputs for flexible monitoring options. The SR-HD1500 features a 500 GB hard drive, plus an RS-232C terminal and support for .MOV files (for Apple Final Cut Pro), which makes it compatible with footage recorded with JVC GY-HM100 and GY-HM700 ProHD camcorders in the SP (19/25 Mbps) mode. The SR-HD1250 has a 250 GB hard drive, but does not include RS-232C connectivity of .MOV support.

The SR-HD1500 has an MSRP of $2,550 and the SR-HD1250 has an MSRP of $1,995. The combo decks will be available in October 2009."

Any .Mov file? Like DVCPRO HD, Prores? That would be absolutely fantastic...

David Parks September 23rd, 2009 08:28 AM

From JVC:

JVC’s GY-HM100/700 camcorder
(MOV, SP/19/25Mbps mode only)*2

*2Only for the SR-HD1500

It appears that it doesn't support 35Mbps XDCAM and is available only on the more expensive model.
That's really disappointing. I have been shooting on the HM 100 in XDCAM.

It blows my mind that this thing doesn't have Component HD or HDMI input and live recording. It's $2,000.00!

We need Pioneer to create an updated version of the PRV-LX1 for blu-ray.
