it connects to a 3gb/SATAII interface.. that is a _very_ different thing than actually having 3gb throughput :).

otherwise... i cant wait to get 12 of these in a fibre attached chassis :)

Indeed, Hitachi already has an "SATA 3GB" drive on the market, and Tom's Hardware found it to be good, not great

part of which is no doubt due to limitations that won't exist in future PCs, where the higher capability of the newer 3GB SATA-IO drive (as SATA II is properly called) will shine. But for current systems, looks like it'll make relatively little difference. Here's a link to info on SATA for those interested:
