1,000,000 fps camera

It take 11.5 hours to watch 1 second slow motion footage shot with this camera.

It take 300 years to watch 1.5 hour film shot with this camera.

Mouth-watering! I would love to have 2x or 4x oversampling, let alone 1000x...

Allen Nash June 26th, 2005 02:07 AM

I find the camera's specifications interesting...

Recording speed: 30 fps to 1,000,000 fps
Frame storage: 100 frames

This would be great for future shoe developers as they would have a high quality camera to see all the compression in a shoe as a person is walking or running.

Hasn't the military commsioned several kinds of cameras similar to these to study the effects of projectile weaponry and other "top secret" weapons projects?

There are a few of these cameras out there. One in particular is popular in L.A. it's called the "cine speed" camera and is rented out by band pro for about 5k a day. it doesn't do full 1080p but pretty close.

"it doesn't do full 1080p but pretty close."
