That looks interesting. I'm tempted even though I have the H4n as well as the original H2.
I wonder if it will have a bit less noise off the preamps.

Ditto on the XLR's

Re: Zoom H2n Announced

I can see why that is a disappointment: less of an issue for me though as I can do M/S with XRL mics on the H4n.
I was thinking about this as a replacement for my H2 and keeping the H4n.

Finally they put a HOLD button in. And just for that, I might upgrade it. Also black color is more pro looking than the beige champagne color

Nice, a MS mic with a recording function :).
Now add Rycote recorder suspension a deadcat and off we go.

I wish Zoom could add a stereo MIC input + two channel internal mics recording function: now that would be extremely useful. I could run a wireless mic or two and have an ambience backup too.

I just did a quick review of it if anyone is interested.

I really love the Zoom H2N. It's going to be a valuable multifunctional tool for event video and live concert work I do. For XLR, the Zoom H4N is unbeatable, but the H2N will have it's own place.

The best feature for me is that ability to record from the external mic source and the internal mics at the same time on different channels in 4 track mode.

Here's my review:

Isn't that's overstating the case? The DR-100 competes well at the same price point as the H4n and the recently announced DR-40 looks like a winner. And if you have more money, there are much better XLR-equiped recorders available.

The H4n does well at its price point, but it's definitely beatable.
