RAW Formats, Shooting, Workflow & Post with Geoff Boyle – Los Angeles

From acquisition to on-set media management to post processes, this two-day workshop is for anyone interested in RAW workflows. The class will give participants a basic understanding of RAW formats, the difference between Looks and LUTs, as well as an overview of rushes and approaches to shooting and finishing in post. Participants will shoot their own sequences in class and learn to generate looks and grade the footage.

Los Angeles, November 3-4 and Atlanta Nov 10th & 11th

Know Your Gamma with Alister Chapman

This single-day workshop for camera operators, DPs and DITs aims to demystify the camera that feature we’ve all come to love and hate – gamma. Learn what gamma is, why it’s important, and how different types of gamma can affect the images you capture. Understand how to select the right gamma and then how to expose it correctly. Discuss whether to create a look in camera or in post-production. This workshop combines both theory and practice throughout.

Working with Large Format Cameras in the Real World with Alister Chapman & Den Lennie

In this exclusive workshop, Den and Alister will help you navigate the ever-growing world of large sensor cameras and the unique challenges they present. Through examples from their work in this field, you will learn how to use tools like the Sony F65, F3, FS100, FS700, NEX 5N, and the new Black Magic Cinema Cameras – and make money doing it.

Two-Day Cinematic Production Workshop with Den Lennie

In this small-group, hands-on workshop, professionals will achieve transformational growth in their filmmaking skills, allowing them to master the “cinematic look” when shooting video. From fine tuning exposure to framing and lighting interviews, participants will learn to work fast without compromising quality.

Advanced Cinematic Documentary Shooting with Den Lennie

In this small-group workshop, you will learn how to produce cinematic documentaries quickly with a minimal crew and a modest budget. Blackmagic Cinema Camera Workshop with Den Lennie

In this daylong seminar, you will learn the set up, operation and workflow of the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. Topics include setting exposure when working in RAW and Apple ProRes, creating dailies, editing in FCP X, and exporting to Resolve for grading. At the end of the class, you will know how to get the best out of your camera and workflow.
