Re: iphone light meter app

Any chance of an Android version? I have a Galaxy S III and Nexus 7 i have been using with the DSLR Controller app on Android for a small nice (if laggy) field monitor, and would love these features.

Re: iphone light meter app

Having had some experience developing for both iPhone and Android I'd guess this would be a difficult app to do well for Android. The app currently says it is 'optimized for iphone 5' but is also compatible with the past few generations of iphones, ipads and ipod touch devices - which encompasses probably not more than half a dozen different camera elements that have to be tested and calibrated for.

I don't see how that would work on the Android side, unless you restricted it to just a few of the newer or most popular devices. It just seems like there are too many possible hardware and software combinations to make it particularly accurate. The only possibility I could think of is if there was a way to set up a calibration image which people could use and then contribute calibrations back for their hardware - essentially crowdsourcing the calibration process. That's a lot of work though for a market that hasn't proven particularly profitable for many developers - and it also will increase tech support loads exponentially.
