Neutral Density 3.0 from TIFFEN

Just received a press release. I wonder if they are claiming a reduction in IR...

The Tiffen ND 3.0 is a Neutral Density filter providing 10-stop exposure absorption. The high density blocks light emission of the visual spectrum into the camera, allowing you to photograph with a much slower shutter speed or at a wider aperture than required. This gives the photographer two techniques; the filter is ideal then for long exposures in which anything with movement in the image is desired to appear blurred. The second is in which the photographer needs to use faster or more wide open lens apertures to create greater depth of field.

Nice. I'll mostly pick one up.

I'm a fan of timelapse photography with a 180 degree shutter, as compared to the series of photos feel that a fast shutter delivers. I've been making due with 6 stops and a polarizer, and this will simplify things and let me get the full 180 degree duration in most cases.

Of course a one stop ND can be useful but not the answer everytime.
