They don't mention the workflow in any of those videos do they? I know to shoot S-LOG and the BASE ISO is 2000 and it shouldn't be changed. I know how to take the footage from the AXS card to sony's RAW content browser. That's where I get lost. What do you turn it into to bring it into speedgrade or resolve?

Phil I have no ideal on that. I'm learning the about all this stuff on video. I pick up a Canon VIXIA HF G10 in late 2012 then got a Canon 70D this Sept. So I have been learning photography and shooting video. I have just seen where people on the forum have talk about the Sony and 4K.

Resolve will see the Sony raw just as it is. In resolve in the media window just navigate to the folder where your footage is and drag the folder into the media bin window. It's that easy.

If you want to change the look of the footage go to the settings pane and look for the raw tab. In the raw page use the drop down at the top right to select Sony, then you will see your input transform settings where you can choose between different gamma curves. Note that these are non-destructive, so even though your viewing in 709 or whatever you choose, you can still grade the full range of the raw footage.

For speedgrade you will need to first convert the footage to another format such as DPX. You can do this in raw viewer using the export tools, but the files will get 3x bigger and be much harder to work with.

That build looks like it's 4 feet long! Interesting stuff.

I know I'm a stuffy old traditionalist, but why is the presenter lighting cross-keyed?
