Wanted to invite you all out to our AbelCine CineGear week of events and workshops. Come see Panasonic, AAdynTech, Zacuto, FreeFly, Steadicam, Teradek, Paralinx, Atomos, Canon, and more. We are even giving away an FreeFly MoVi M5 on Thursday before the show. Here is more info:

AbelCine is planning a week full of events and workshops around Cine Gear 2014. Along with exhibiting at booth #S231, Sound Stage 31, our Burbank office will be hosting several events showcasing the latest tools and technology leading up to the Expo. We will also be following up the show with some special Cine Gear Master classes. Since we have so much going on, we’ve decided to call it Cine Gear Week! All of our AbelCine Cine Gear events will surely fill up fast – reserve your spot now and we hope to see you there!

At this event, AbelCine and AAdynTech will present live demonstrations of the latest AAdynTech LED fixtures, including the super-bright Punch Plus, Space Light, Jab series and our new Hurricane Junior concept LED.

Innovation & Inspiration?Newest Gear and Tips from Zacuto – Los Angeles
Get a look at the latest Zacuto gear with Product Developers Steve Weiss and Jens Bogehegn. They will be showing off their new products, including the new Gratical EVF, Control Grip with Z-Motor and the VCT Universal Baseplate.

Modern Camera Movement & Advanced Wireless Solutions – Los Angeles
At this full-day event, we will be showcasing the latest camera stabilization gear and wireless solutions from Freefly Systems, Steadicam, Paralinx, Redrock Micro, and Teradek. There will also be a panel discussion featuring Garrett Brown, inventor of the Steadicam, and Freefly’s Tabb Firchau, moderated by Jem Schofield of theC47. Additionally, all attendees will be entered to win a brand new MōVI M5.

10am – 2pm

An Introduction to FreeFly?s MoVI Stabilization System
This four-hour crash course is an intensive, hands-on class designed to fully immerse an experienced camera operator on the core principals of the Freefly MōVI. AbelCine and Freefly instructors will discuss and demonstrate the technical aspects and basic fundamentals of operating the MōVI system. You’ll be able to get your hands on the M5, M10, M15 and the various accessories used for a successful shoot.

3pm – 6pm

Monitor Calibration for the Digital Technician
To truly judge your image on set and in post, it is necessary to have a properly calibrated monitor. From a small on-camera LCD screen to large home displays, most monitors offer some form of calibration adjustment. This three hour workshop demonstrates the methods and tools used to calibrate various display types. Focus will be on white point adjustment, color & contrast adjustment, and the software and hardware used to analyze and calibrate a monitor.

10am – 1pm

Using Small & Large Sensor Camera Systems in Today?s Productions
With today’s large sensor digital cinema cameras such as the Canon EOS C100 & C300 it would almost seem like small sensor based camcorders are irrelevant in today’s production environments. However, in this session, Jem Schofield of theC47 will discuss various applications when using cameras like new Canon XA25 and XF205 are actually better suited for the job. He will also cover A&B camera setups and using both small and large sensor camera systems together.
