NHK now has a camera to film with for their UHD 8K broadcasts now. Only thing it's missing is 120fps at native resolution, which is what NHK was planning for the format down the line.

That's because it is the Red Weapon, just with body modification. This is not a camera that will be for sale. Rent only.

To an extent.... but I'd think NHK would firstly be mostly interested in an OB type camera for 8K - something capable of giving a live output. The 2020 Olympics are mentioned as a big "coming of age" for 8K, and from the specs of this camera it seems well and truly targeted at the cinema market - not for live/OB use?

And for the 8K variant of UHD, there is a strong incentive to make a higher frame rate "standard", at least for such as sport, and obviously the Olympics. A big push that UHD/8K should be a standard 100/120 fps (which this camera won't do). Rationale being that a prime audience will be live viewing of big events on large cinema type screens.
