Extended exposure technology based on Flies Eyes

Interesting technology, but as I just messaged NS, I think the performance advantage they claim is already available in very cheap sensors, and one may use a similar method.

I think the company, www.smalcamera.com 's (now owned by Cypress Semiconductor) autobrite technology has worked like this for years.

Their are alternative exposure technologies that achieve an, more or less, comparable effect. One exposes each pixel twice, and I think there is one that resets a pixel when it over exposes.

www.fillfactory.com (now also owned by cypress) is one of the users of multi/dual-slope. Pixim is one of the other new technologies http://www.pixim.com. These methods are increasingly being used by different manufacturers.

They all promise generally similar performance gains to what the article claims. But they are a good revolution in the camera field.
