CUPERTINO, California—November 8, 2006—Apple® today unveiled its new line of MacBook™ consumer notebooks that now include Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Just one-inch thin, the new MacBooks are up to 25 percent faster than the previous generation and feature a built-in iSight® video camera for on-the-go video conferencing, Apple’s MagSafe™ Power Adapter that safely disconnects when under strain, and iLife® ‘06, Apple’s award-winning suite of digital lifestyle applications.

Nice. I'm starting to think, now that newer models are coming out that are faster (and apparently have Comic Life), of grabbing one by next year.

All the new Mac Intel systems come with Comic Life -- they have for a while. Then again, is that really a selling point that they include a $35 application?

I was kidding around. I'm just about ready to get a new Mac laptop, and I wanted to wait a bit to see where the speeds were going, etc.

I guess I should've figured that...

FWIW, I just got a new 15" MacBook Pro (2.33GHz C2D, 2GB, 160GB HD) and it's great. I know that budget will come into play, but I would definitely recommend the MBP over the Macbook. It's not much bigger and has a lot more to offer. The Macbook just lacked too many features for me to consider it (no FW800, only has crappy integrated video, can't drive a 30" monitor, no Expresscard, etc..).
