Videoguys Top 10 Products of 2006

Overall it was a very good year delivering many new products to help us transition to our HD future.

2006 was a transitional year for digital videographers. While we had several very new and exciting products, they were more evolutionary then revolutionary. In fact, my most revolutionary new product of the year isn’t even a video product. It’s the new Intel Core 2 Duo dual-core CPUs. With the introduction of these new CPUs, in both Apple and Windows computers, we are now getting an incredible level of CPU power and performance at very reasonable prices. With them we can take video editing and production to the next level - and that level is High Definition.

Great list! And I feel honored that HDV: What You NEED to Know, Vol. 2 was an honorable mention. I was very fortunate when Douglas Spotted Eagle asked me to help co-write it with him, and it's great that all our hard work is being honored like that.

Thanks!

The book is FANTASTIC! Anyone interested in migrating to HDV MUST read it.

I want to thank you for co-writing it. It is the perfect combination of technical insight and easy to understand information. I thought the first verion was really cool, with the publishing of the second edition it has become our HDV bible!

I bought the first edition, Heath, it was very helpful in increasing my understanding of HDV. I can't wait to check out the new edition and see what's new! =)

I wrote a review for the first book, written by Spot and Mark Dileo, who also contributed to this edition. I was honored when Spot asked me to help write the second edition.

Thanks for the compliments on the style. I'm the kind of guy who needs to have stuff written simply, as if someone is talking to me in person. Those heavy-duty tech books I sometimes read can give me headaches!
