miniDV to DVD-R...considerations for sending finished product to Ghana
 

As a favor, I am videotaping an event for a friend who then wants the edited product to be sent to Ghana so friends and relatives will be able to view it.

So all of a sudden, I am freaking out about how I can possibly ensure that what I give the person will be viewable in Ghana.

So my Sony miniDV camcorder is a DCR-TRV18. I was intending to simply import the raw DV footage into my iMac, edit with iMovie and then export to iDVD, burn a DVD and give it to my friend.

But now I'm wondering about Region Codes, NTSC vs Pal and whether that all comes into play with this project.

Help please.

According to http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePag...television.php the TV system of the country is PAL, so after editing, you need to compress to a PAL DVD.
