Having problems with dupes

Hello,

I currently have a problem with duplicating DVD-Rs. Me and a friend have just recently finished a video which is to be duplicated onto DVD. We are using Reel DVD to author the disk (4.5GB worth of files), and all files were created in Premiere/ photoshop. We have have burned a disk and it plays correctly in our DVD players, we sent it off to be duplicated and they are currently having major problems with it. They say that it plays back all jittery, stops etc. They have wasted 7 DVDs trying to make it work.

They did say that the disk should not have been closed. But how do I not close the disk?

Is there anything else that could be done to improve duplication on our side?

This is the first DVD that we have done, for duplication, so any ideas appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed

Is it a fully compliant DVD-Video disc, a DVD-rom or a DVD-hybrid
disc? I can't imagine how they can have such problems if it is a
DVD-Video disc. Perhaps you can visit them with a harddisk with
the files on it?

I don't see how not closing the disc will help here.

Its a plain old video disc which has an 1hour long video and about an hours worth of extras.

We have sent them a number of discs to see if any of them play. These include:

DVD-R - created in Reel DVD
DVD+R - Created in Reel DVD
DVD+R - Created by dragging video_TS folder to nero and burn that way
DVD-R - burned at 1x speed by dragging video_TS folder to nero
DVD+R - not closed disc

We'll see if that makes any difference for them.

I don't really fancy taking a harddrive over there at the moment since it'll be a 4 hour car journey.

Thanks again Rob,

Ed
