Burning high Speed Media at slower speed

I notice that a lot of slower speed DVD-r media has been discontinued. I read somewhere that if you have a 4x burner you can't use 8x or 16x media but I can't find a discussion about that. I've got a Pioneer A06 that burns at 4x but most of the printable media available now is faster. (I usually only burn at 2x anyway) Anyone have any info.

Thanks.

Brad

That should work just fine. Some people even burn at a slower speed on
purpose, since that may produce better discs (not sure if that has ever
been proven).

So it should work fine, just try it out with a single disc first. Make sure your
drive does have the latest firmware, since it may not recognize a disc otherwise.

Thanks Rob.

I'll try the 8x which seems readily available.
