DVDA - Starting with a video followed by a menu

Hi all,

I am familiar with DVDA but I've always had to do one or the other. Meaning that I needed to create menu-based DVD's or single movie DVD's that will automatically start once inserted in a player.

Now I need to mix things up and I have no clue where to start.

Mainly what I need to do is to make the DVD start automatically, my company's short bumper will play and then the menu will appear.

How could I go about to do that?

Thanks,

Phil

ps, I so hope that nobody will suggest script, I am lousy at programming anything but if this is what it takes then I'll do it ;)

You'll find help support in DVDA under "Introduction Media". This function is also sometimes known as "First Play".

Really quite simple. In the Project Overview window (the one that shows the tree structure of the DVD, turn it on in the View menu if it isn't showing), right-click on the disk icon at the top of the tree, and pull down to "Insert Introduction Media". Done.

Preview of this is slightly tricky on DVDA (I'm on Pro 5.0a) - when you hit preview, it will bring you to the first menu. To adequately review this, you'll open Preview, hit the Stop button, then the Play button. This should replicate what happens when you first insert the finished DVD in a player.

Thanks Seth!

If I set the background media to a video wouldn't it do the same thing as well?

Looks like it when I preview but I didn't burn anything yet and don't to have a nasty surprise. Did you try that also? What happened then ?

Thanks

Phil

When I've used Introductory Media the disc plays as expected - the first piece plays, then it goes to menu.

Sorry, I've not really had need for background video on a menu, though there are a few posts on same over the the vegas forum.
