Dual Layer 99% hangup

Hi

I'm having trouble burning dual layer discs in Sony DVD Architect 3. Everything works as it should right up to the point where the program starts burning the lead out and then it just hangs there at 99% until the function times out.

I'm using a Pioneer DVR-109 with a p4 3.0g machine with 1 gig memory, with verbatim dvd+rw dl discs.

I haven't had any trouble burning single layer discs.
I'll admit to not having tried a different brand dual layer discs, but the verbatim single layer discs have always worked.

Are there any issues that I don't know about that could cause this?
(It's getting expensive burning dual layer coasters)

Make sure everything is up to date:

- latest patch for DVD Architect

- latest firmware for your burner

If it still does not work I would indeed try different DL media....

well I updated everything with the latest patches and still got the 99% freeze

I then tried a different brand of disc and still it freezes at 99%
I can even take the disc out and it still tells me it's burning the lead out

so what can I do?
I have 2 videos that are 2hrs 15min long and I want the quality to be good, but want to avoid burning them over two discs and I can't keep wasting dual layer discs
I've already spent $50 making coasters

any suggestions or ideas?

it seems I'm having a nice little conversation with myself....

after more experimenting it seems I've struck a weird combination. Pioneer DVR-109 burner, with Sony DVD Architect 3 and +R dvd discs will freeze at 99% burn completion.

however, +R discs work with no problems when using nero (copying etc...) and architect has no problems with -R discs and the pioneer burner, and I can use +R dvd's with the sony software with a different brand burner

so it seems it is just the combination of +R dvd's while using the sony dvd software with the pioneer burner that causes the problem

does anyone know how to fix this? I'm finding it difficult to get -R dual layer discs conveniently

Are you running DVD-A3.b? I am very interested as I run DVD-A3 and just purchased the Pioneer DVR-109, it was on sale. I should have it by Monday. I prefer +R yet if yours just bums out, I'm not so sure I should go with that burrner. I am doing a test run with a protable Sony DL this weekend and will let you know how it goes.

yep, running the latest DVDA 3 patch (which I think is b)

it's also interesting to note, that the same thing happens on both my PC at home and my PC at work
(they both have the same programs and burners)

dvda3(b), + pioneer dvr109 + dvd+r = bad combo

there are no such issues with a single layer sony burner that I have
