Direct to DVD printer

Hi all,

I am looking into buying the least expensive printer I could use to print on the matte white blank DVDs.

Black and white is fine.

Recommendations please,

Both Epson and Canon have printers that can handle discs. Don't know the new model numbers or prices though.

I bought an Epson R320 a few years ago and it works fine, and as I recall was pretty inexpensive. It comes with a Disc tray and some rudimentary design SW for your DVD -- it's probably long since been replaced by newer models.

You have to feed it one disc at a time, though. There are some very nice automated ones at Disc Makers and elsewhere around the Interweb that can do whole stacks for you overnight, but they're expensive.

Most of Canon Pixma models can handle that. I have a Canon's Pixma MP620.

I bought it some 2 years ago and it still is expensive. Try newer Pixma models.

Are you interested in used? I have an Epson R200 I haven't used since I bought my automated duplicator two years ago. I even have a bunch of ink cartridges. If you're interested I'll set it up and make sure it still works.

Yes, I am interested in a good used printer.

Does it also print on shiny/silver surface discs or just on matte white?

Will it work on a Windows 7 64 bit PC (is there a drive for it)?

Thank you,

It will print on whatever is labeled "inkjet printable".

The last time I used it was on a computer with XP. I couldn't tell you if drivers are available for Windows 7. I'll get it out of storage and hook it up to make sure it works and get back to you.

Sounds good.

Thanks,
