Vimeo Crashing Windows XP Explorer

When I try to access my videos in Vimeo through Windows Explorer...I am running XP...the home page is scrambled and is seen in sentences. But when I use Google Chome I can see the typical home page and can finally play my videos and send links to others.

Anyone else experiencing this new event?

Nope, no problems with XP / IE8 seeing my Vimeo home page or videos page.

Have you kept up with IE8 updates?

Re: Vimeo Crashing Windows XP Explorer

About 4 weeks ago, IE8 on my XP system suddenly started doing weird things with all sorts (not all) of the sites I visited.

Reloaded it, rolled back all the auto updates, nothing would get it working properly.

Finally threw in the towel and switched to Mozilla FireFox version 15, what a difference.

Loads pages 10 times faster, never (yet) scrambles pages, which IE8 did all the time, is more intuitive, and has a much better way of keeping track of frequently used sites.

The stupid thing is, I downloaded MF about 3 years ago and really disliked it, so switched back to IE8.

I can only assume, perhaps incorrectly, that some sites are now using stuff that MS isn't keeping IE8 updated for, it being an "end of life" program, else my Norton's has introduced something that IE8 simply can't deal with - it is being updated constantly, so that's a possibility too.

If your virus/ firewall software is one of the good ones, it IS possible they could throw your MS browser a curve ball it can't handle.
