HELP: exporting video to format for iDVD

First time using IDVD and I'm not too happy with it.. just using it for some DEMO DVD's that I'm sending out to sponsors and my distributor. Anyways.... what exact settings do I need to use exporting from FCP 4.5 to make the quality not crap?! PLEASE HELP! I've used Adobe Encore when I used to edit on PC.. I was going to use DVD studio pro at school but I was trying to get the demo's out from my G5 before I go back to school. Thanks in advance.

Export to a QuickTime Movie (Not with QuickTime conversion). The resuilt is a DV movie file the same quality as the original. Drag and drop that onto iDVD.

okay cool, I guess I had always been told to use quicktime conversion before. I'll try it your way.. hopefully it works.

Another way IS to use quicktime conversion, converting it to H.264 (Best / Multi-Pass). Great, great quality without a huge file size. It takes a little longer to encode but it is a great looking video when done. It's how I do all my videos. I use FCP 4.5, aka "HD", I also use iDVD. Want DVDSP, but when your fifteen and buying an XL1s you can't afford everything. :) Hope it helps, John.
