homebuilt duplicators

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on controllers for a homebuilt dvd duplicator? Would rather build one myself and save myself a few dollars if possible.

Also any thoughts on Plextor drives versus NEC?

Plextor is like the Ferrari of Drives. Its great. But NEC is good too. I'm using both. Of cse the Plextor works better so far. WE can get those tower like duplicators here is Singapore of US$150, 1 is to 3 drives.
