mp2 convert with Cleaner issue
 

here at work still using Avid XDV 3.5, it has issues with exporting as mpeg2, the workaround, which has worked in the past is not currently. so I exported as a QT ref file, and used Cleaner XL ( I hate that interface) to convert to Mpeg2. Its a 24 minute or so file. and it comes out fine, except that it cuts off about the first 15 seconds, so the fade up from black into the animated background with the title is cut off, for all but abut 15 frames. the audio is fine.

Anyone experience this issue? the QTref file looks fine, though I did export it again and checked it, and the mp2v file is there until the end, it just cuts off the head. Trying to get this out to a client this afternoon and the conversion takes forever, so he might have to go with the VHS back up plan.

well after two more tries with cleaner that both failed (still cut the first 12 or so seconds off the head of the video) I went to lunch. Upon return I decided to try the Avid workaround one more time,and viola! this time it worked.

So out to Adobe encore 2.0, a menu, some chapters and the client was pleased. whew!
