FCE to iDVD squeeze

Ok, I looked and looked and didn't find the answer to my question. I'm shooting with a HVR-A1U (Anamorphic 16:9). It seems that there is a way to export my edited movie so that iDVD will recognize it as a 16:9 file. There are so many different options to export and they jsut confuse me. I'm in Iraq (amry) and I'm trying to make a movie about the unit I'm in. Please help.

First of all, make sure your Sequence settings are set for 16:9

Then, when everything is finished, Export as Quicktime Movie (not Quicktime Conversion) Select Chapter Markers if you have them

You can select not Self-Contained as long as your FCE and iDVD are on the same system drive and you have the Scratch disk accesible to that drive

Download a free program called Anamorphasier. Put it on your desktop (Finder)

Take your exported movie and drop that onto Anamorphasizer. Drop the new file into iDVD, set up the project the way you want

If you have iDVD 5 or 6, I would create a Disc Image. When that is encoded, you can check it with Apple DVD Player to make sure everything is good. Then use Apple Disk Utility or Roxio Toast to burn the disc

Tried that but still have problem

So I got the Anamorphasizor program and tried that. When I drop the file into the Ana... the viewing window opens up and runs through a little sequence then asks me to save the refernece file as... I don't have that option. Do I need to by QT7 to complete the proccess? Also, when I export the movie as a QT movie file, it plays like crap in QT. What's up with that. The footage looks great in FCE.

I had to upgrade to QT pro (approx $20) to get this to work.
After that, I was able to save the file and it appears to work (although I havent tried the DVD in all combinations of players/TVs yet)

There's also a Perl script you can run the disk image through that sets some more "bits" in the image for better 16:9 behavior -- I forget the name of it though.
