Rewrap question: Does it affect rhe quality of the clip??
Hi there
I know it says on the web site that when you rewrap the clip from an AVCHD file it just convert it to a way Quicktime can read it whitout altering the quality of it. But when I check the info of my clip after the rewrap process, it says the color sampling is 1:1:1. I'm filming with a NEX-FS100 which shoot at 4:2:2. So from what I understand is that Slipwrap change my clip from 4:2:2 to 1:1:1. I'm I right? |
Re: Rewrap question: Does it affect rhe quality of the clip??
I'm curious what you're using to check that info? When capturing to the internal storage in the AVCHD, the FS100 is 4:2:0, not 4:2:2. The only way to get 4:2:2 would be to capture the hdmi output via a separate recorder.

Re: Rewrap question: Does it affect rhe quality of the clip??
Sorry. It was a miss typo from my part. It is indeed 4:2:0. But it doesn't change the fact that after the rewrap it does says 1:1:1 under movie inspector (inside Quicktime)

Re: Rewrap question: Does it affect rhe quality of the clip??
Hmm - if what you're looking at is the Color Profile, that's not referring to the sampling, that's referring to the color matrix. It's not related at all to the 4:2:0 / etc. It's just quicktime's way of saying Rec 709.
