Arm accessory for p+s skater dolly at DVinfo.net

I received an email from P+S Technik which advises of a new accessory for their Skater dolly. It is a small articulated arm like an anglepoise, which fastens to their existing camera base or tripod head attach point.

From the diagram it appears that it does not do independent dynamic vertical moves like a mini crane but locks off and the dolly does all the moves it already allows in the horizontal plane.

The new generation gymbals might have stolen a bit of its potential glory but for groundlevel product shots comprising macro follows and orbits, this thing should be the king. It uses an adjustable countermass to get around the otherwise inevitable issue of overbalancing.
