DV CHALLENGE #2 Finalists

In my opinion, everyone that enters and delivers a film to the DV Challenge is worthy of the term finalist, simply because so many others did not. In that sense, you are all winners and have my respect, at least until we determine the real winners tomorrow. ;)

I am posting these in the order that I recieved them. The people who turned them in early deserve the little extra exposure.
Also, several were turned in without titles. Since a movie needs a name, I gave a few secret makeshift titles for the judges to use. If you the producers want me to change them, email me the proper title at thedvchallenge@hotmail.com This also applies to any spelling mistakes in your names or anything else I may have overlooked. It's been a long week! :)

With out any further yakking...

I welcome each of the producers to start their own thread in the DV For The Masses forum to discuss their films.

Two Bad links:

Mike Teutsch – “Secret Lies And Obsessions”

which I assume is supposed to be:

Thanks Dylan,
You and the judges are doing a great thing keeping us motivated and being so good about all this. I for one greatly appreciate all this.

I will start a thread possibly tonight. On the web link you may see that all the information on the short I did is there. I am off to look the other competition over right now.

May the best human being win.

PS, I edited this and it is now 12:52am. Just watched all the ones I could - couldn't load one of them, "All good dogs" I think, as QT didn't have the right decompressor. If I were voting, I like "Lost Souls". She really nailed the Gillian Anderson thing. I think I'm in love...Good choice of traveling shoes. Black pumps go with everything.

You are correct with the above link. Not sure how it got changed but the
http://treasurecoastvideo.com/machineit/ your link is correct.

Watched all of the other movies first, then could not see mine, but no loss, I knew how it turned out.

Wow, the others were so great! Let's keep this going!

Actually, this is the correct link, you just have to wait 45 seconds before the "DOWNLOAD" button to pop up on the top right corner. I put a note about it in the above thread.

We all need modivation, and I enjoyed all of the films, But, just think if this could happen each week or two! And why not? I for one would be willing to contribute to a fund to set up a website for hosting this stuff! Ok, what would it cost to host this??? I bought a website to post for this contest,it cost $4.95 a month. What if I used this site to promote this concept? I will not use it's full capicity! It has 5000 meg capacity, and 110 gig bandwidth.

Mike

Kyle Edwards July 17th, 2005 11:07 PM

Sorry guys, I'm looking into a new host as we speak. If not tonight, tomorrow I definitely will have one.

EDIT: Here you go

Take a look at WeeklyDV.com. I have contacted the owner several times trying to help out but he has never responded. Perhaps if somone offered to maintain it with him, or offered to send him some cash for maintaining it.

This was a great thing for me. I hadn't entered but it was grinding to a halt by the time I first heard of it.

My favorite is here:
http://weeklydv.com/short.php?id=232

Pretty well done stuff some of those guys were doing there.

If we ask the owner, maybe we can just take over his site?

I'm having problems playing:
Meryem Ersoz – “All Good Dogs”
I get audio and no video.
Sounds interesting ;)
What do I need to do?

You have to update to QT7, look for it on the Apple site. I had the same problem.

Because I'd either go insane, or have to charge everyone to enter and make it a full time job. :)

Actually, there is something like that in the works already for the next one. Hang tight and wait. :)

Can everyone see mine alright? The Parrot's Secret. It's really clear on my two LCD monitors, but I'd like to make sure.
