DVC3 Event Updates- PLEASE READ

Here is a batch of updates for you guys, some are important, some are not:

-I'm heading out of town for most of the rest of the week. Please post questions here before emailing me, if it is something that might be general knowledge. I will be checking email and the forum, but only every 2nd day. And conveniently my cell phone doesn't get covereage where I'm going. :)

-New format for posting the films! Instead of dumping all the films on you at once, I'm going to "release" 3-5 per day over the space of the week. This gives each one more individual exposure, and allows for more direct feedback. The winners will be announced once all the films are released. I know how much y'all love to wait, but I think this way is better for the filmmakers.

-Keith has been out of town for a while, but still manages a post via his laptop. This is why we haven't got the updates done, but we will be back on the ball Saturday, promise!

-Since the site is getting revamped Saturday, keep this in mind: We are looking for good production shots of films and filmmakers to use on the site! If while you are shooting, you could take a bunch of snapshots for us to use, that would be great. Either behind the scenes or of your actors. The more unique the better.

-What else? Hmm.... Probably something important.... Sigh.

Can we expect the first ones on sunday/monday something?

Dylan Couper September 17th, 2005 05:13 PM

Probably Monday morning, giving the judges all weekend to do their work. I just finished my judging, it took about 4 hours to watch all the films and rank them fairly (considering I had already watched them all at least once before as they were submitted).

I'll do 4 or 5 per day, and announce the winners Saturday or Sunday next weekend.

DVC3 is now officially closed. I spent pretty much all day wrangling out technical issues, doing my judging, and answering emails. I'm happy to say that we have 27 completed entries with working links that are now on their way to the other 5 judges to complete the process. Thanks to all those who entered and completed a film, I hope you had as much fun making them as I did watching them. I am now going to have a drink and watch a bad zombie movie to clear my brain.

Goodnight!

Thanks Dylan!

Enjoy the zombie flick and get some Zzzz's.

Rob Zombie? Haven't seen the second one yet. Probably pick it up on DVD.

Come on Sean, it couldn't be Rob Zombie, he said it was a BAD flick...

Actually, it was a Korean zombie mobies called BioZOmbie from 1998, which was a cross between Dawn Of The Dead and Shawn Of The Dead. It was hilarious, I watched it twice I enjoyed it so much.

Hahah, I have that DVD, and it's a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the ending too.

I watched Cronenbergs "Spider" and finally got a DVD od "Saw". Shows you where my head is.

Right on! I got it through an online rental service, but I think I'm going to buy it. I found so many new things the second time around. Plus it makes Uwe Boll's House Of The Dead look extra crummy. You know what I mean. :)
