DVC#3 "The Jealous Camera" Feedback
 

Hi, all. This is my 1st entry in the challenge. I was wondering what you all thought and what advice can be given. To me it was a kind of South Park/Sponge Bob short with a punch line without the cartoons. Was it funny?

Was it funny??? I laughed out loud!!!! The last line just cracked me up. And the voice of the Olympus camera was great.

The cameras (and their accented voices) were very well done, and very funny to watch. Was you lead actress shy? She never showed her face... :) Or were you aiming for a human-in-a-cartoon look where humans never completely show up?

Thank you. Yes, I was going for "the for a human-in-a-cartoon look where humans never completely show up" This is a great time.

This was VERY VERY VERY fun! I loved how the cameras spoke. And the lines where totally right. I might not know if it was a obvious choice that the black camera should be somewhat meaner and the silver should be innocent. It somehow manifested the jealous camera even more.

I also noted that you changed the roses and props on the table. Well done :)

Hi Richard- This was indeed a very funny film!

I thought you did an excellent job adding both life and personality to those two camera critters.

Nice accent Richard...a little Connery action there? "He's out a tha picture." lol And the Canon voice was something like Mr Bill and one of those Abbott and Costello cartoon cats from WB a long time ago.

Nice job. I guy that I work with had a similiar idea. It was interesting to see how you executed your idea. Good job.

Hello Richard,
I was very entertained by your short - In the back of my mind I have actually imagined just such a situation (in fantasy land) when I bought my first digital camera and placed it on a shelf next to a few of my wife's relatively un-used older film cameras - you captured it quite well and made it funny with catchy dialoge and I enjoyed the voices and accent.

I also liked the attention to the details involving the side table and the changing items on it.

For your first short, I liked the story you told. It was funny. I almost believed that the cameras were actually talking to one another. I was half expecting that you were going to replace the digital still camera with a new digital video camera.

Everyone has said this before but I too liked the accent of the cameras. Those pesky Canon cameras sure can cause lots of trouble sometimes!

Also, for your first short, you paid close attention to continuity by making sure the table dressing changed from one year to the next. Continuity is something I sometimes struggle with in my movie shorts.
