Tag your Youtube entries!

Ok ladies and gents, we need to have a little talk about the importance of putting the right tags on your Youtube entries.

A tag is just a keyword that Youtube looks for whenever you search. Thus, if I went to Youtube looking at films, and typed in DVC10, I'd get to see everyone who entered a film in DVC10... IF they flagged their movie with a DVC10 tag!

Adding tags is easy, it asks you for a list of them when you upload the video, or you can go edit your video info and it will offer you the opportunity to add/edit them.

The wider a variety of tags that you add, the more likely your film is to be seen by other people.

Make the following mandatory tags for your film. Add others (like your name) as you see fit.

DVC# (where # is the number of the current challenge) DVC thedvchallenge dvinfo short film director video dv challenge dvchallenge filmmaker

This will also help your video pop up in "related videos" when people are looking at other DVC films.

And although it is too late this time, you want to name your films like this: DVC10 - My Badasssss Film

There you go!

I just want to add that the program to view DVC entries needs two keywords (or tags), "thedvchallenge" and "DVC#" where # is the DVC number. If your entry won the DVC, add the tag "winner" and it will have a medal.

Benjamin.
