Feedback: Less Supernatural DVC#4

Hello Guys,

This is my first entry for the DVC competition. I decided to do a spoof of a popular TV series over here in the UK. Rather than being a film its more of a tv real-life documentary type thing.

We shot it all in one evening and then edited in 1 day and a bit. Most of the content has had to be cut down massively due to the 4min duration. Most of the gags had to be cut out so that I could try and tell the 'story' within the time allowed.

Hope you like, please let me know what you think?

Shot with Canon XL1 and Sony TRV900
Edited with Premiere Pro

I will be doing a longer version (hopefully before the end of year).

I liked it. I think it had good potential. I hate to critique folks efforts. The delivery was a bit flat in spots, but then, have you watched mine yet? quite flat. "Damn it Jim, I'm a Director/Producer/Editor/Photographer, not a doctor."

Anyway, looked good. I liked the flow of it. Felt like a real show. Tough to get in, tell a story and wrap it up like that in only 4 minutes.

Works for me.

Thanks,

Sean

Yep, nice job

I liked it, very nice CG and editing... The sound was a bit off... Maybe a better mic or something. I did think you might have gone over on time BUT NOPE you made it.. I also liked when you went back and forth between the color and B&W camera mode.. again good job..

I really like the look (color to black and white, the graphics, the map) and the style of this one. It's amazing you managed to do this is such a short time. It really captures the kind of TV show it you were spoofing.

It's true that the sound was weak at times, especially in the beginning. I feel the story lacked clarity overall; it feels does overly compressed.

Hi Ed!!!

Back from holiday! Hope you had a wonderful time.

This entry of yours was fun from start to finish. The seer (or whatever he's called) was really funny, and I loved that part in the hallway when the camera guy says he thinks he heard the footsteps. Cracked me up!

It's just too bad you were forced to cut out so much. I would love to see the extra gags, so be sure and post the link when you get the longer version completed, okay?

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your comments. I'm with you on the audio. I think its because of the compression from 48KHz to 44.1KHz in the mpg file, which is causing most of the clipping - Hey ho thats how it goes.

Glad you all enjoyed it and appreciated the work gone into it.

Stay tuned for the full version.

Everything was improvised, I just gave them some pointers on what I wanted to include and they went with it. The camera man voice was me :-)

Cheers,

PS Lorinda: My holiday was great! thanks.
