DVC7- What's latest and greatest way to encode

Okay all. Went through this earlier this year, but I am wondering what best ways to encode are for viewer convenience as well as quality.

Looks like Window Media HD uses up about 150 mb for 3 minutes, so will have to use something else on that side

What about Quicktime.. I have Pro, but last time noone seemed to able to encode well with it because it lighted up everything....

Anybody ?

Hi Chris

Hello Chris,

I use Final Cut Pro and a Mac and have a basic 7.0.1 quicktime version. For the web, I have had pretty good luck with the following. Am not sure if any of this will translate for you, but hope it helps:

File>Export using quicktime conversion
Click options for all the "goodies"

Select>Compression Type>Sorenson Video 3
Frame Rate>30 (best)
Key Frames>300
Compressor Quality> Medium to High (I like high)
Size>Type in 320x240
Sound>IMA 4:1 32 kHz 16 bit

This comes out with a 03:18 minute movie around 28 MB and looks good.

Hope this helps

Best wishes~
Bradley

Bradley. Thanks. I will give that a try in Premiere and see what I come up with.
