Thank you, Chris!
Thank you for bringing back the entry level fora, and good luck with the new one.

thank you Chris, for bringing back the Sony A1u. With all the comment in this thread and the debate on HDmom, you know now(or already know) how much we love DVinfo.net.
Long live to Dvinfo and good luck to HDmom |

Again, I think this is a wonderful concept and really the debate should be more focused on implementation and how we can help make this sister community a great place too.

Thank You, Chris
Now if only the camera manufacturers were as responsive to their users' wishes.

Chris,
When I first started to use DVinfo exclusively and abandoned several other video forums many years ago (while I still was a very fresh amateur), it was mainly for a few important reasons: 1. The real name requirements, which meant hardly any bad comments, and people behaving gentle and professional, even to beginners/novices like I was back then. Here people are treated with the same respect regardless of being professional or beginner. That's a very good thing. 2. It was THE one and only place to find serious information, honest answers and to learn, and I have learned a lot these years thanks to DVinfo. |

ATTN Chris: Discrepancy
I just wrote my first post over on the HDMom. Login was easy, same as here, and looks like it brings over my profile from this site.
But my number of posts is off - 1700+ over here, only 1472 there? Where's the discrepancy coming from? Thanks,

It's sort of "on hiatus" anyway until we can affect a name change, due shortly.

I missed all of this until now (very busy May and June!)
Just for the record: The "mom" thing doesn't really bother me - "listmom" is a common enough term on the internet after all The "Restoration" was a Good Thing (thanks Chris) I hope some folks looking for answers on HDMOM are encouraged by what they read and come to dvinfo to find out more. I came to dvinfo through a reference on a consumer video site. |
