Blog link allowed in signature?
 

Is it OK to put a link to a blog or website (my own) in my forum signature? I didn't know if that was prohibited by the "no marketing" rule. I see others do it, but wanted to be sure.

Thanks for asking. It's okay with me if you want to to put it in your sig; but what rubs me the wrong way are infrequent "drive-by" posters who aren't regularly participating here who just come by on occasion saying "check out my latest blog entry," because this site is not intended as a springboard for jump-starting blogs -- we remove those posts as a matter of policy. However I'm working on a way for bloggers to publish relevant content directly to DV Info Net (i.e., we host your blog entries for you), and in that case, it's perfectly fine to link back to the original entry on your own site. I'll let y'all know as soon as that process is implemented.
