Loosing preferences

I like to close the sub-forums I am not interested it, and the closed panels stay closed until I use CCleaner to clean my PC. Can anyone identify the setting on the attached picture that is responsible for that?

I use Firefox for browsing.

It's not the cookies - unchecked that option and I still lost all my preferences.
