Sundance roll call

Just wanted to know if any members will be attending.
I know member, Nick Hiltgen, will have a film screening, that was shot on a XL-H1, at Sundance.
If any other members will be walking, sloshing, skating, sliding, weaveing the streets of Park City it'd be kinda fun to meet up.

Time,Place,Day?

Cheers,
D

I'll be up there sturday afternoon with the family...

Sure wish I could be there... in addition to seeing Nick's film, I'm hoping somebody will check out "In the Shadow of the Moon," a documentary about the Apollo lunar missions (one of my favorite topics), and give their feedback here on what they thought about it. That sounds like something that I'll wait in line for. Saturday mornings are usually pretty easy to get into.

I'll be out of town until this Monday so I miss out on the opening weekend craziness.

Cheers,
D

I might make it up there actually. I heard about the short film "AFTERMATH ON MEADOWLARK LANE" was filmed with the AG-HVX200 and wanted to check that out but also I'm really wanting to see the new Clint Eastwood movie "LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA" which is being considered an art house film and isn't being shown in my home town. I had read somewhere that parts of the movie were filmed using the Sony HVR-Z1U and Eastwood had a lot to say about the quality and durabillity of the camera. If anyone lives in or near a larger city you should check it out.

I try to get there everyday (I live 15 minutes away) and I have been enjoying it tremendously. JVC has a nice setup, and offer free demonstrations and speeches from well known people.

I am going to a show tommorrow, I will report on it as soon as I can.

I went to a premiere of the Year of the Dog, with John C. Reily and Molly Shannon. I was a very good peice. I enjoyed it quite a bit, it is a little abstract, but the character development is amazing. I bet it was funded by PETA, because the whole story hinges on animal rights and does it very well. It was produced by Brad Pitt. The movie expresses a wide variety of emotions from, elation, to akwardness to depression to satisfaction and back. It was very well written, but I don't expect it to do well in theatres. It really breaks away from mainstream movies in the actiing style scripting and story.

I would give it a B+, a very enjoyable movie.
