Posting Your Masterpiece...

Typically, UWOL posts finished pieces to our dedicated website:

The UWOL Challenge - Wildlife & Outdoor based film competition

While DVC posts finished pieces to either Youtube or Vimeo.

This round, we are giving everybody a choice. You can post using either method. Or both!

It's a free-for-all out there!

-------------------------------------------------------

Here are the UWOL posting guidelines:

The UWOL Challenge - Wildlife & Outdoor based film competition

Focus on Rules 6 (file size is 60gb max, dimensions are 428 x 240 max) and Rule 7, how to name your file before you upload.

The link to the uploader is on the home page - "upload your entry" and I'll post the password to upload your file here.

You will need a file number - due to the chaos and mayhem, I'm assigning file numbers for this round only. If you are a DVC sign up who wants on the UWOL page, shoot me an e-mail (uwol@comcast.net) or else post your request to be added to this link, and I'll give you a number and add you to this list - note that even if you are a UWOLer who signed up on the DVC link (Chris, Bruce, Andrew), I'll still need to add you, since I'm taking your sign-up selection as an indicator of your intention.

Here are your assigned file numbers:

01 Kevin Railsback
02 Trond Saetre
03 Jeff Hendricks
04 Cat Russell
05 Steve Siegel
06 Rob Evans
07 Dale Guthormsen
08 Per Johan

Let me know if I missed anyone - like I said, it's chaos and mayhem out there! - and I'll add your name and assigned number to the list.

Have fun and stay warm, I mean cold, out there!

It's freezing here. I'm blaming Dylan!

Ditto. All my friends who know about this theme are running from me now 'cause it's sooooo cold. I have four ideas and no one to shoot! :)

Lorinda,

-24 today, 20 mile winds by afternoon. It was really a great day to be outside!!! Oh yea, some blowing snow all day and low visibility, no shadows to enhance images.
A great day to get out and shoot low contrast images!!!

At least you wont get hot and sweaty, unless you arre running in your snow suit of course.

Better Yet, NO BUGS!!!!

Here is the password info, so you can upload your files at: The UWOL Challenge - Wildlife & Outdoor based film competition

We will accept uploads from anyone -- UWOLer or DVCer -- who would like a permanent home for their entry in our film vault...

Click on the link "Upload My Entry" in the upper right hand corner of the home
page:

Heres the upload info for this round.

User name:uwoluser
password:wonderfulwildlife

The uploader works pretty smoothly and will give you a successful upload
prompt as the outcome. Occasionally, it may take several attempts to complete a
successful upload, depending on the bandwidth in your neck of the woods.

If you have a last-minute change to your file, you can just go ahead and re-load
-- as long as you DON'T RENAME YOUR FILE, the uploader will just overwrite the original uploaded file

Please consult rule #7 on our rules list in order to name your file properly.
It should include your sign up number, the Challenge round, and the title, and the naming convention is also case-sensitive, so use upper-case where you see upper case and lower case where it's lower. Remember, that you may have to peek back at the original sign-up thread if you have forgotten your sign up number.

So my entry would be:

01_UC12_wonderfulwildlife.mov

Here are your assigned file numbers, we had to assign them for this round because the chaotic nature of the charity challenge!

Here are your assigned file numbers:

01 Kevin Railsback
02 Trond Saetre
03 Jeff Hendricks
04 Cat Russell
05 Steve Siegel
06 Rob Evans
07 Dale Guthormsen
08 Per Johan

If you don't see your name here because you came late to the party or you are a DVCer, just post here, saying that you are taking the next consecutive number. So, if you're Vidar Vedaa, for instance, just post here saying, "taking number 10" and you can assign yourself that number.

Note that this Charity round is UC12 - or UWOL #12...

Also, have a 2nd look at our Compression standards (Rule #6), if you are uncertain about acceptable file formats and sizes. If your file doesn't
conform (60gb, 428 x 240 or smaller), we won't be able to link it.

Vidar has officially taken the #10 spot -- looks like I can't count! If anyone wants 09, it is open! D'oh!

You can free up the number 5 spot. I had a little cold weather but not enough to make up an entry. My trip yielded enough footage however for most of the first installment of the long-form, so nothing was lost except a bit of pride.

Because this was to be between 3 and 5 minutes, I was under the impression it could be up to 80mb.

Actually, this is a good question that Dale has pointed out. If we enter a 5 minute clip are we able to up the file size limit to accommodate for the additional length?
