Does anyone use Plextor DVD writers?

Can anyone vouch for the newer 708 series from Plextor?

Also, how many people here use external burners?

Having a history as a computer tech, I can say that seldom does anyone make burners of better, consistent quality than Plextor. And it looks like the following reviews basically concur that this new 8x DVD burner is a solid machine...

You can seldom go wrong with a Plextor.

i have always used plextor cd-rw drives and i JUST got a new 708A dvd burner and i haven't used it a whole lot yet, but so far it works great, which is what i would expect from any plextor product.
